Don't promise ice cream to a 9 (almost 10) year old unless you can deliver! We spoke at dinner about how amazing Marble Slab ice cream is. Little did we know, the Marble Slab in Sundance Square has closed (please note for your 9-almost 10- year olds). So . . . we spent the rest of the evening trying to locate an ice cream shop worthy of Marble Slab credibility. We might have found it. Sweet Sammie's (note: next to Backwoods-woo hoo) makes the best pick-your-own ice cream sandwich. You pick the cookies and the ice cream and they make it happen. Crystal and I watched the family devour their delectables.
